Scripture
Psalm 138:2 (English Standard Version)
I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.
Devotional
David declares that he worships God because of His unfailing love and His faithfulness. He recognizes that God's promises can always be trusted. Every word God has spoken is true, and He will never fail to keep what He has promised.
In a world where promises are often broken, God's Word remains constant. When circumstances change, His truth does not. When we feel uncertain, His promises give us hope. When we face trials, His Word becomes our source of strength and direction.
This verse also reminds us that worship is rooted in gratitude. As we remember God's mercy and faithfulness in our lives, our hearts naturally respond with praise. The more we trust His Word, the more confident we become that He is working for our good, even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
Today, spend time reading and believing God's Word. Let His promises shape your thoughts more than your fears. The God who has been faithful in the past will continue to be faithful today and forever.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailing love and Your perfect truth. Help me to trust Your Word above my circumstances and to worship You with a thankful heart. Strengthen my faith as I stand on Your promises, knowing that You are always faithful. In Jesus' name, Amen.
